Due to the recent growth of the business we are seeking to recruit 2 night shift + 1 day shift Production Team Leaders reporting to the Manufacturing Manager

Giles Foods is a rapidly expanding Bakery business, producing a wide range of Artisan Breads, Added Value Breads, Pastries, Cakes and Tarts for the Retail, Foodservice and Wholesale markets.

The Role

The Production Team Leaders will have full operational responsibility for one or more production lines at our Milton Keynes site. You will lead and develop a team of up to 35 operatives and 2 to 4 Supervisors in a fast moving environment. Your role will be to deliver excellent service to our customers whilst fulfilling cost targets. You will look to challenge existing ways of working and getting things done, leading by example. This is a significant role offering further career progression potential for the right candidate.

The Candidate

Candidates will ideally possess a NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) management qualification and have a minimum 3 years’ experience in first line supervisory management or higher and looking for their next challenging role. Chilled food experience is preferred but not essential. We would welcome applications from candidates from non-food sectors such as automotive or pharmaceuticals. You will be a tenacious, numerate and an analytically thinking leader with the ability to motivate and energise your team. As an excellent communicator at all levels you will have to be both patient and pragmatic, being able to make the right decisions quickly in a highly pressured environment. You will lead and manage the CI plan for production and be accountable for raising standards and driving improvements.

National Account Executive – Food Service

The Role

In line with our future strategy for the foodservice sector we are seeking an ambitious Account Executive who can manage and develop existing accounts and can further new targeted opportunities.
Reporting to the National Account Controller, the successful candidates will be a creative and entrepreneurial individual, with excellent communication and presentation skills

The Person

You will have national account experience working in the chilled or frozen category within the Foodservice arena.
To be successful within this role you will need to have the following traits:

Experience of selling to branded food service businesses at Development Chef / Buyer level.
Strong interpersonal and relationship skills developed within a food manufacturing environment.
Experience in menu solutions and leading projects from concept to launch, being a must.
Educated to A level or Degree level

Senior Product Development Technologist

Giles Foods offers an excellent opportunity for a Senior Product Development Technologist to join our busy team developing and delivering products through from concept to launch.

The Candidate

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, the candidate will oversee a team of 3 technologists in developing innovative new products whilst making continued improvements to the current product portfolio. The role will hold total responsibility for the delivery of new products including packaging and process development.
Our ideal candidate is likely to have around 5 years experience of working in a customer facing NPD role with an understanding of the systems and procedures used by retailers, have good communication and organisational skills as well as demonstrating a flair and passion for food. Previous experience in bakery products is desirable as well as a strong knowledge of the development critical path and ability to work within very tight deadlines. A chilled and frozen food manufacturing background will also be an advantage.

The Role

The Manufacturing Manager will have full operational responsibility for the largest of our 3 production sites. You will lead and develop a team of 120 operatives and 10 Team Leaders working 24/7 in a fast moving environment. Your role will be to deliver excellent service to our customers whilst fulfilling cost targets. You will look to challenge existing ways of working and getting things done, leading by example. This is a significant role offering further career progression potential for the right candidate.

The Candidate

Candidates need to be graduate or graduate calibre and will have a minimum 5 years’ experience in production management and be ready to take the next step. Chilled food experience is relevant but not essential. We would welcome applications from candidates from non-food sectors such as automotive or pharmaceuticals. The Role

With the continued development of our business with FMCG retail, foodservice and wholesale channels, we are seeking an enthusiastic Supply Chain Co-ordinator. The main duties of the role will include:

To be the first point of contact for all customers contacting the business
Responding to all queries in a timely manner
Liaising with and invoicing customers
Processing orders in a correct and timely fashion
To support all areas of supply chain management
Control stocks within the business
To undertake relevant project work

Production Controller

BASED MILTON KEYNES

We are seeking a Production Controller reporting to the Production Planning Team Leader

The Role

With the continued development of our business with FMCG retail, foodservice and wholesale channels, we are seeking an enthusiastic Product Controller. The main duties of the role will include:

Managing internal bread logistics to ensure correct stock rotation to minimise waste
The completion of accurate daily stock counts
Amending the daily production plan when required
Contributing to the daily team meetings – providing updates and suggestions to improve performance

This position is shift based and the successful candidate will be expected to work the hours of 7am-7pm on a 4-on/4-off basis.

The Candidate

The successful candidate should be a confident communicator at all levels and have a passionate outlook. It is vital that the candidate has excellent organisational skills and is able to prioritise their own work load. The role requires strong IT skills and a working knowledge of MRP systems would be advantageous. No experience is required for the role, but it is essential that the successful candidate has an enthusiastic manner and willingness to learn. Salary

Salary is in the region of £18k-£22k dependent on experience
